In-seam Gas Pre-drainage Borehole
The in-seam gas pre-drainage drilling project is located in Australia and was constructed using the VLD-1000 directional drilling rig. It is mainly used for coal seam gas pre-drainage and mine gas control. The project adopts directional long-hole drilling, with borehole lengths exceeding 2,000 meters and the longest borehole reaching 2,151 meters.Location

Inrush Protection Drilling
Directional in-seam drilling technology has been established as an essential tool for gas drainage and exploration in the underground coal mining industry. A fatal inrush event highlighted the threat that flooded old workings present to current mining operations. The use of directional drilling to provide protection against the threat of inrush by either providing clear barriers ahead of development or draining stored water has become an established practice in the Australian coal industry.Location
